According to the press service of the Bureau of Economic Security, the criminal organization included more than 15 participants, and call centers worked in four offices in Kyiv and Chernihiv.
Also, the organizers of the network involved in its activities more than 500 FOPs and 20 controlled companies, to whose accounts they received funds.
"The investigation established that call center operators called people and informed them about winnings in the lottery or loyalty program. In order to receive a gift, the victims had to pay for the delivery of the parcel. Usually it was about small household items. That is, in fact, the payment of the "delivery" covered the cost of the gift," law enforcement officers note.
According to them, in the future, the participants of the quasi-lottery received a prize and an offer to proceed to the next stage of the competition, in the final of which a prize of 100,000 to 750,000 hryvnias was waiting for gullible citizens.
During searches in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, law enforcement officers seized more than 500 pieces of computer equipment, mobile phones, server equipment, documents, seals and more than UAH 1 million in cash.
The total number of victims is more than 500 people.
The organizers were charged with creating a criminal organization under Article 12. 4 suspects are in custody, and another 5 are under house arrest.
