Tech giant Meta will be testing premium subscriptions for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp users in the coming months.
According to TechCrunch, Meta plans to add a video creation app called Vibes to the subscription, which the company says “can bring your ideas to life with new AI-powered visual creation tools.”
The company also plans to use Manus, a Chinese artificial intelligence company that Meta acquired in December for $2 billion , in its subscription plans.
While it's unclear what the paid features on WhatsApp and Facebook will look like, TechCrunch notes that the new Instagram subscription will allow users to create unlimited audience lists, view a list of followers who don't follow you back, and view stories without showing the creator that you've viewed them.
According to Meta's plan, access to the platform's core services will remain free.
Recall that recently it became known about a court hearing involving Meta employees, who allegedly can access WhatsApp users' messages, despite end-to-end encryption.
