“The entire PlayAI team” is set to join Meta next week, according to an internal memo seen by Bloomberg .
PlayAI employees will report to Johan Schalkwyk, who recently joined Meta from another voice AI startup, Sesame AI.

Financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed. A Meta spokesperson confirmed the acquisition but declined to comment further.
“The PlayAI team’s work on natural voice creation, along with a platform for easy voice creation, aligns perfectly with our work and roadmap in AI characters, Meta AI, wearables, and audio content creation.”
