"If you create a Threads profile using your Facebook account, we will combine your information across Threads and Facebook," Instagram said in a statement .
In addition to allowing people who don't have an Instagram account to quickly create an account on Threads, this new sign-up option should affect the type of posts and ads that will be recommended to the user. According to the official explanation, signing up for Threads with a Facebook account will combine your information on Threads and Facebook.
According to statistics portal Similarweb, the Threads app for iOS and Android has shown a growth of 127.8% over the past year and has an audience of 115 million users. Although the X figures decreased by 15.2% compared to last year, Elon Musk's platform has a larger number of users — 132 million. Overall, Meta reports that the number of Threads users has reached the mark of 350 million monthly active users.
Threads recently gained a private messaging feature, allowing users to message each other directly in the apps without going to Instagram.
