Microsoft has reduced the price of game subscriptions. The price of PC Game Pass in Ukraine has decreased by 60 UAH
Microsoft has officially reduced the cost of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscriptions. For Ukrainian users, the price has dropped from 290 to 230 hryvnias per month. However, such a discount comes at a price - new parts of the popular shooter Call of Duty will no longer appear in the service's library on the day of release.
The changes were announced by the company's gaming division after Xbox CEO Asha Sharma admitted last week that the subscription had become "too expensive for players."
Globally, prices have also dropped, with Ultimate dropping from $29.99 to $22.99, and PC Game Pass dropping from $16.49 to $13.99 per month. This follows a previous price increase last October.
The price cut is directly related to the change in policy regarding the Call of Duty franchise. Microsoft explained that new games in the series will be added to the Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass catalogs only during the next holiday season, that is, approximately a year after the release. Old games of the franchise that are already in the library will remain available to players. The rest of the service content, including access to Xbox Cloud Gaming, remains unchanged.
“Our players have different geographies, preferences, and tastes, so there is no single model that is best for everyone. This change is in response to the large amount of feedback we have received so far,” Microsoft representatives noted. “We will continue to listen and learn,” the company said .
