The co-founder of the marketplace, Vladislav Chechotkin, spoke about this on the air of a national telethon.
According to him, the destroyed facility will no longer be able to resume operations, and the attack itself was the biggest destruction for the retailer in the past four years and in the entire history of the company. Despite the large-scale losses, the platform continues to function and support Ukrainian business.
«This is the biggest destruction for Rozetka in the last four years and in our entire existence. Russia did not spare us three ballistic missiles. The warehouse is completely destroyed and will never be able to work again. We have suffered very large losses — billions of UAH. On the other hand, Rozetka has long been a marketplace, we provide the opportunity to work on our platform to tens of thousands of entrepreneurs,» Chechotkin noted.
He also called on Ukrainians to support local businesses by shopping on the platform so that the company and its partners can get through this difficult period and continue to develop.
The ballistic attack was preceded by a series of drone strikes. A few days earlier, a Shahed hit the warehouse, killing one person and injuring seven others — the employees did not have time to reach shelter in the short time after the alarm was raised. Later, three more drones attacked the facility, causing a fire that was extinguished by the State Emergency Service and employees.
Over the years of the full-scale invasion, Russia has destroyed or damaged dozens of Rozetka delivery points and distribution centers. In particular, in the spring of 2024, one of the retailer’s key warehouse complexes near Kyiv was partially destroyed during massive shelling.
As a reminder, on the night of August 5, Russia carried out a massive missile and drone strike on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The attack damaged the assets of dozens of businesses. In particular, Epicenter, Nova Poshta, Silpo, NOVUS, Intertop Ukraine, Liqui Moly and many others now need support, as does ROZETKA.
