The Ministry of Defense codified the 17-inch multi-purpose FPV drone "Queen of Hornets" developed by the Ukrainian MilTech company "Wild Hornets", which actually launched this class of drones in Ukraine.
"The drone was codified according to NATO standards both as part of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) complex and as a separate product," the company told dev.ua.
The drone can be equipped with the DJI digital video communication system or the innovative Hornet Vision system, which provides a high-quality video signal that is resistant to electronic warfare.
As a reminder, the Wild Hornets officially presented the Queen of Hornets in July 2024. At that time, it became the largest FPV drone used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Over the past two years, combat units have received about 10,000 drones, the production of most of which was financed by philanthropists and the largest foundations that assist the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The “Queen of the Hornets” is a 17-inch multi-purpose FPV drone that can perform the functions of a bomber, kamikaze, transport drone, carrier of conventional kamikaze drones and relay stations, and is also successfully used for remote mining.
Thanks to its unique battery system, the "Hornet Queen" can carry loads and weapons weighing up to 9 kg over a distance of up to 20 km.
The maximum flight speed of the drone is up to 160 km/h (cruising speed is 70-80 km/h), the maximum flight altitude is up to 3,500 m (operating speed is 0-2,500 m), and the flight preparation time is 5 minutes.
Soon, the “Hornet Queen” will appear on the Brave1 Market platform and combat units will be able to order this drone in exchange for “ePoints”.
