The Ministry of Defense will purchase "Mavics" for almost UAH 500 million after Zelenskyy's statement that China has limited their sale to Ukraine and Europe
In May, the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) State Enterprise of the Ministry of Defense concluded several agreements for the supply of DJI Mavic drones in standard configuration without additional batteries for UAH 478.69 million.
In May, the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) State Enterprise of the Ministry of Defense concluded several agreements for the supply of DJI Mavic drones in standard configuration without additional batteries for UAH 478.69 million.
In the Prozorro system, from May 21 to 29, the Ministry of Defense concluded agreements for the supply of almost 1,000 Mavic 3E daytime drones at a price of UAH 122,000-132,000 per set. It also ordered 1,400 Mavic 3T (Thermal) night drones, Nashi Groshi reports .
Supplier names and delivery times are hidden for security reasons.
Most of these contracts were concluded and made public after Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia could still buy Chinese Mavics, but this opportunity was closed for Ukraine and Europe.
"The Chinese "Mavik" is open to "Russians" and closed to Ukrainians," the president said.
During the same period, Mavics were also ordered in Ukraine at prices similar to AOZ:
"Joint Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine "Lyut" - Mavic 3E - 123,099 UAH per set;
State Special Communications Agency — Mavic 3E Enterprise — UAH 122,022;
Rivne City Council — Mavic 3T Enterprise — 237,300 UAH;
Military unit a4682 — Mavic 3T — 238,500 UAH.
In addition, the publication noted that prices for Mavics in Ukraine began to rise this year, and in April the cost of these drones reached 200,000 UAH, although last year the Mavic 3T cost approximately 150,000 UAH.
According to a source from "Nashi Groze", this was due to an artificial shortage from the Chinese manufacturer. The manufacturer gradually reduced production of the 3rd generation Mavic, forcing buyers to switch to the more expensive Matrice 4T model.
