What happened

A few days ago, screenshots from the Instagram account of Oleksandr, who claimed that he was illegally mobilized in Odesa, went viral on the Internet. In the LinkedIn of the IT person, it is indicated that he works at EPAM.

 

 

 

Oleksandr wrote that he was taken illegally because he has a diagnosis that makes him unfit for service. The man also emphasized his unwellness and stated that he was being taken to the «Desna» military educational unit in Chernihiv Oblast.

He asked for maximum publicity of this story. The Twitter community has dealt with it.

A collection of half a million

Yesterday, Oleksandr announced on his Instagram that he urgently needed funds. Ativets said that he is collecting UAH 500,000 to ensure his safety.

 

 

 

On the Internet, this initiative is ridiculed, called a «bribe collection for the TCC» and joked that Oleksadr plans to «swim across the Tisa». He considers such assumptions offensive and unfair.

dev.ua talked to the man and found out why he needs the money, where he is now and what his plans are. Here is a small blitz interview with him.

— Oleksandr, hello. Contact dev.ua. We read your iusstattoriz about TCC, and the question arises — is it all true and do you really write it?
Maybe you could talk a little bit more about the situation?

Indeed, I am writing. Everything has already been told in my stories, they are in the saved ones.

— Who are you collecting money for as a bribe? Who demands this 500k? Why are you willing to give them away?

Please do not write slander about me about «bribery», because I will block it.

— I’m just trying to find out what it is, and what are you raising funds for? If this is not what I mistakenly stated above, please explain what exactly it is. Because it is not clear what you mean. I’m sorry if I offended you — unintentionally.

I am working with a lawyer to appeal the decision of the VLK, a lawyer is expensive. I don’t have money.

— Now it’s clear. Tell me, do you work at EPAM? And, actually, where are you now? Studying in Desna?

Yes. Why do you ask? Why are you interested in this?

— I am asking to tell you about your situation correctly. Because not everything is clear from those fragments of the old book that are available.

I am in the hospital now, I feel very bad.

My mother is on drips with cosmic pressure, I am also in a terrible state, there is no money, the lawyer is expensive, the urgency of the work is even more expensive, there is no time. While I am in the hospital, I have to resolve the issue of appealing the decision of the VLK about my suitability, because with my diagnoses I am unfit, the VLK broke the laws.

I lost my job in the company due to illegal mobilization, I lost my salary in the company. Many lawsuits, many trials ahead.

— Were you fired?

No. The place in the company is kept, the salary is not, if I understood correctly. I have been officially mobilized since November 12. But everything happened in gross violation of the laws of Ukraine.

UPD. EPAM responded to dev.ua’s request for support for mobilized colleagues and the situation with Oleksandr.

«As for our mobilized colleagues, according to the legislation of Ukraine and our internal policies and procedures, after providing the relevant documents on mobilization, we support each of our colleagues. As for Oleksandr, he has been cooperating with us, but has now suspended his services,» the company said.

UPD. After the story was published, Oleksandr said that he needed the money not only to pay for the lawyer’s services. In fact, the man has a large loan of 350,000, which he plans to repay with the funds raised.

It’s also interesting that the IT guy has changed his nickname — now he’s not a Ukrainian nationalist, as he used to be, but simply Oleksandr Leonenko.
