This launch marks Cursor’s next big step beyond its integrated development environment (IDE), the primary product that developers use to access its tools, TechCrunch reports.
With the web version, Cursor users can send natural language queries through a browser — on a desktop or mobile device — to assign background agents to tasks, such as writing features or fixing bugs in their codebase. The web version also allows users to follow agents working on other tasks, view their progress, and merge completed changes into the codebase.
«Now you can work with Cursor Agents in the web browser and on a mobile device. Just like a regular agent that works alongside you in an IDE, agents in the web browser and on a mobile device can write code, answer complex questions, and create a framework for your work», — Anysphere reported.

Last month, Anysphere announced that Cursor had crossed the $500 million mark in annual revenue, driven largely by monthly subscriptions. The company also said that Cursor is now used by more than half of the Fortune 500, including companies like Nvidia, Uber, and Adobe.
«Customers want to use Cursor in more places. I think they also want Cursor to solve more of their problems», — said Milic.
Cursor previously launched background agents — AI systems that handle coding tasks on their own without user supervision. In June, the company launched a Slack integration that lets users assign tasks to these background agents by tagging them with the @Cursor tag, similar to how Cognitions’ AI-powered coding agent, Devin, works.
