The Defense Blog publication reported on the technical features of the new development and expansion of production of Ukrainian drones.
The MV11 marine drone was designed to operate in open ocean conditions, not just coastal waters. The device is capable of carrying a payload of up to 2,200 kg and staying autonomously at sea for up to seven days. According to the manufacturer, the vessel will function as a mobile base: it will launch, refuel and equip other unmanned systems far from the coast. In addition, the drone can perform reconnaissance, surveillance and support landing operations.
The MV11 was developed by the UFORCE design and research bureau in Portugal with international investment. The cost of the vessel and the volume of orders are not disclosed at this time (for comparison, the standard Magura V7 attack drone carries 770 kg and costs up to $500,000).
"This is not just the largest naval drone, it is a platform that provides multi-domain capabilities: a single carrier that transports and launches other unmanned systems far from the coast. Russia surpasses us in every classic category: people, shells, missiles, armored vehicles. Therefore, we have made the very speed of change our main weapon," emphasized Oleg Roginsky, General Director of UFORCE.
Earlier it became known that the British company with Ukrainian roots UFORCE raised $50 million. Now its valuation exceeds $1 billion , which made the company a new unicorn.
