“We save time because we don’t have to develop this tool from scratch, and we immediately get a competent team in this domain. And the partner doesn’t waste time scaling with its own resources, having no experience and “filling in the blanks” at the stages that we ourselves have already gone through several times. Therefore, this synergy is beneficial for both parties,” he assures.
According to Zinovsky, the capabilities of TAF Industries' management simply do not allow the existing team to constantly open up new directions, and this partnership model makes it easier to do so.
“In this story, a partner joins us — he is an expert in the niche in which he works, and he is also interested in developing his own product. But at the same time, he, for example, does not have expertise in mass production or supply, and we provide this expertise. Thus, within the framework of this partnership, we really strengthen each other in what we are experts in,” he stated.
At the same time, TAF Industries does not buy another company in its entirety, but enters into its capital with a certain share of 50%.
“In most cases, we enter either with a majority share or 50/50. Here, it’s up to us to agree with the partner. But the entire team definitely stays,” Zinovsky added.
Zinovsky also stated that such a company would also have to codify its product, as re-registration would cause additional difficulties.
“Firstly, this is, and secondly, considering that we have different agreements with each of the partners on shares and other conditions, it is much easier and more transparent for the partner if we interact on a specific product within this enterprise. Then there are no questions about who gets what share of the profit, and so on,” he explained.
As dev.ua wrote, TAF Industries intends to expand its line of unmanned solutions to all domains, so it is announcing a partnership with a manufacturer of water drones.
In addition, TAF Industries CEO Volodymyr Zinovsky said that the Ukrainian deftech industry has expressed a common vision of changes regarding the need to improve the arms export model, and is negotiating with the government to resolve a number of aspects.
