On the eve of St. Nicholas Day, we asked the top IT companies what they would most like to wish for and receive in the industry and what wish they would write in a letter to the wizard. Here is the wishlist from IT people.
Some may call this banal, but I am sure that in any letter to St. Nicholas from Ukrainians there will always be a request for victory. To this absolutely obvious and very important desire, I will add one more — the Ukrainian IT market must once again prove its ability to quickly adapt and master new technologies in order to become one of the world leaders in the development and implementation of AI solutions. This opportunity cannot be missed: it can significantly increase the country’s export potential and create thousands of jobs for Ukrainian specialists in the technology sector.
If I were writing a letter to Saint Nicholas, my wish would be very simple and at the same time completely unrealistic, but on the other hand, that’s how letters should be. I’m very glad that this year our company has shifted its focus to long-term projects, we have much more of them than last year, and I would really like to ask that this trend continue. This gives us a very valuable opportunity to predict. And in general, I would ask the entire IT industry for a little more predictability, which allows us to plan, invest in people and create long-term products, and this is exactly what drives Web3 and modern IT forward.
The second desire is for high-quality talent growth. Not just new specialists, but people who think in terms of product categories, see the industry more broadly than individual technologies, and know how to work with the depth of Web3 and AI. Such people shape the culture and set the pace of the company.
And third, a little more magic in joint projects. In Web3, it is collaborations that create breakthroughs. I would like to see in 2026 more partnerships with global companies, R&D initiatives, and community growth that drive the industry forward.
I wish that as AI improves, we don’t forget the value of real engineering and solid product thinking. Yes, vibe-coding seems to make «programming» accessible, and that’s great. But «vibe» shouldn’t replace the curiosity or discipline that makes product teams truly productive. So I wish that the development of AI doesn’t «corrupt» developers, but rather inspires more talent to delve deeper and solve more complex problems. And then, maybe one day, kids will want to be engineers not because «AI is cool,» but because building technology products and finding solutions to complex problems is cool. Big dreams should remain bigger than the tools.
But before that, dear Saint Nicholas, please fulfill the main wish of Ukrainians, regardless of whether they are in IT or not.
