During the attack by Russian drones on the Kyiv region on the night of June 1, the Unmanned Systems Forces shot down 15 drones with interceptor drones.
This was reported by «Military» with reference to the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk. According to him, the interception was carried out by SBS fighters from the «Clear Sky» group.
He did not specify which drones were involved, but it is likely that Shahed-type strike drones and decoy drones were shot down. Clear Sky has at least 10 crews, which have intercepted about 200 Russian drones in the past two months.
Project Clear Skies was designed to counter mass kamikaze drone attacks and protect civilians and critical infrastructure from air attacks. The project involves crews using interceptor drones that are capable of detecting and destroying enemy UAVs.
«The most important thing is that this experience is already going beyond the Kyiv region and is being scaled to other regions of Ukraine,» said Mykola Kalashnyk.

One of the drones used in Clear Sky is a drone presented at an event on the development of the Ukrainian defense complex, which was attended by representatives of defense companies from Ukraine and Belgium. In April, it was reported that this interceptor had already shot down more than 20 drones.
At the end of May, President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed to " significantly increase our production of interceptor drones " — for this, Ukraine will attract more funding from partners.
