Brave1 Market allows military personnel to order fully custom drones for specific tasks. How it works
The Brave1 cluster gave the Ukrainian military the opportunity to purchase not only serial solutions, but also to order completely custom drones for specific tasks on the Brave1 Market.
The Brave1 cluster gave the Ukrainian military the opportunity to purchase not only serial solutions, but also to order completely custom drones for specific tasks on the Brave1 Market.
The cluster’s press service notes that the military can specify performance characteristics based on more than 17 items, including type of communication, cameras, payload weight, time in the air, etc.
Thus, the military unit forms the request itself, indicating only the desired tactical and technical characteristics, quantity, and delivery time.
«In essence, this allows the military to order drones with unique characteristics for their operational needs — for example, to perform a specific mission,» Brave1 explained.
The system then automatically sends the request to potential suppliers, who can respond or ignore it. The customer does not see who has responded — the system evaluates the offers solely on the basis of objective data. If the TTX in several applications completely coincide, automatic bidding takes place, where the offer with the lowest price wins. After that, the unit can conclude a direct agreement with the manufacturer.
«It is important that even non-codified solutions can be ordered under this procedure, which provides more flexibility compared to other public procurement tools,» the defense technology cluster added.
Among the available technologies for such orders are FPV kamikazes, fiber-optic FPV kamikazes, and aircraft-type interceptors, but Brave1 plans to significantly expand this list, including adding ground-based robotic complexes.
Currently, the functionality works exclusively for purchases made with the units' own funds (not with ePoints).
At the same time, all stages of interaction and decision-making are automatically recorded in the system, so if a unit refuses to purchase, it must indicate a justified reason for the refusal. There is also a functionality for filing complaints against both the customer and the supplier.
As dev.ua reported, during the first year of operation of the Brave1 Market defense technology marketplace , units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces ordered military equipment and supplies worth $1 billion.
