"Our attacks have partially achieved their goals. But this is only the beginning." "Flash" told about the damage suffered by Russian space communication facilities
Advisor to the Minister of Defense, communications and radio technology expert Sergey «Flash» Beskrestnov shared more detailed information about Ukraine’s recent attacks on Russian space communications facilities.
Advisor to the Minister of Defense, communications and radio technology expert Sergey «Flash» Beskrestnov shared more detailed information about Ukraine’s recent attacks on Russian space communications facilities.
As Flash said on his Facebook page, all satellites need a communication channel with Earth, because some of them require control, and others require a stable data transmission channel for ground users, so to perform these tasks, space communication nodes and centers have been deployed in the Russian Federation.
According to the minister’s advisor, the enemy has five main such centers.
«The nodes are equipped with large satellite antennas. Some of the antennas are fixedly directed at geostationary satellites, and some of the antennas can rotate to interact with satellites flying in low orbit. For example, any spy satellite must transmit the received information to Earth. And this happens through such ground communication stations,» he explained.
This month, according to him, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked two of the five such centers — the Dubna Central Military Complex (Moscow Region) and the Vladimir Central Military Complex (Gus-Khrustalny).
According to Flash, the success of the Ukrainian attacks is evidenced by both visual damage and the detection by radio reconnaissance of changes in the operation of enemy satellites.
«And I can say that our attacks have partially achieved their goals. But this is just the beginning,» Beskrestnov announced.
