NBU fined online payment service WayForPay for UAH 1.7 million

The National Bank of Ukraine imposed a fine of UAH 1.7 million on FC «WAY FOR PAY» LLC for violating Ukrainian legislation regulating activities in the payment market.

This decision was made by the Committee on Supervision and Regulation of Banking Activities and Supervision of Payment Infrastructure of the National Bank of Ukraine on February 9, 2026.

The violation was discovered during an on-site inspection of the activities of FC «WAY FOR PAY» LLC. WayForPay was ordered to pay the fine within five business days.

WayForPay is an electronic payment system that allows customers to pay bills and purchases online, receive and accept money transfers, and provides payment acceptance for online businesses. The service cooperates with major Ukrainian banks, has a PCI DSS certificate, and supports 3D Secure verification technology.

More than 15,000 Ukrainian companies work with WayForPay, including Uklon, Socar, Varus, EVA, Dnipro-M, Poster, Kabanchik.ua and other well-known brands.

Recall that last fall, the NBU imposed millions in fines on «non-bank payment service providers» RozetkaPay and Portmone for violations identified during a scheduled inspection.
