The NBU has updated the procedure for performing interbank payment transactions in Ukraine in hryvnias through the Electronic Payment System (EPS).
From April 1, 2026, banks are required to notify users about the status of interbank payments, the NBU reports .
the SEP participant sending funds must inform the payer that the payment transaction was executed using SEP means and its unique identifier (Unique End-To-End Transaction Reference — UETR);
the SEP participant receiving funds - inform the recipient of funds that the payment transaction was executed using SEP means and about its UETR ;
the sending SEP participant — informs the payer about the rejection of the payment transaction by another SEP participant or the SEP processing center , indicating the reason and its UETR.
"Such innovations will increase the transparency of payment transactions and make it possible to track the stages of their execution," the financial institution noted.
