While the AI is writing code, you can play Doom and keep a calendar: a Ukrainian developer has created an open-source Arcade plugin for Claude Code. It has a task tracker, team chats, a calendar, and 61 games.

Ukrainian developer Max Arbakov created Arcade, a free open-source plugin for Claude Code that adds project boards, a notebook, a calendar, team chats, and a game catalog to the tool. It works in the terminal, VS Code, and Claude Desktop. The interface is available in 13 languages, including Ukrainian.

One of the main features of Arcade is task boards. The user can submit a card to Claude with a single button. The agent completes the task, checks off the completed checklist items, adds a summary to the card, and moves it to the “Done” column. Boards can be used for multiple projects, and cards can be submitted sequentially through a special queue.

The plugin also has a notebook with pages, subpages, and checklists. Claude can manage it together with the user, and all open sessions on the same computer have access to shared notes and boards. For teams, there are shared boards where participants can see who has taken on a specific task, as well as personal and group chats.

Another feature is the calendar. You can create events, set up repetitions and reminders, and see task deadlines from boards. Claude can also add and edit events. A separate “Agents” section shows what’s happening in different Claude Code sessions: which ones are working, which ones are waiting for permission or a response, and which ones have completed tasks. The user can answer questions from another session directly from its card.

Arcade integrates with GitHub via the Claude connector: open repository issues can be added to the board, and after completion, Claude can leave a comment with the summary of the work. The plugin itself does not interact directly with GitHub and does not require separate access keys.

An unusual part of Arcade is entertainment while you wait. If the agent works for more than 10 seconds, a suggestion to play appears above the input field. The catalog has 61 free games, including for NES, Sega, Master System and PlayStation, as well as Doom, chess and other board games. Some games are available directly in the Claude Code panel, others open in the browser. You can also read books and audiobooks, watch articles, podcasts and videos on the topic the agent is working on.

When Claude finishes or asks for permission, Arcade displays a notification. The user can return to the agent or continue playing. If desired, you can play online with other users who are also waiting for their agents to finish.

According to the project documentation, Arcade is in beta version 0.39. The plugin has been tested on Windows, macOS, and Linux and is distributed under the AGPL-3.0 license. The author notes that it is free of advertising, analytics, and tracking.

However, data is stored differently depending on the feature: the notebook and calendar remain on the user’s computer, while shared boards, chats, and synchronized settings are stored on the Arcade server. Boards and chat messages are not encrypted, so the developer advises against sending passwords and keys there.

Installation requires Claude Code version 2.1.275 or later. Source code and documentation in Ukrainian are available on GitHub .
