The Norwegian company Kongsberg has announced significant investments in the Polish defense industry, which in the first stage could reach PLN 250 million, and in total will increase to PLN 1 billion. As reported by "Military", the investments cover two key areas:
Production of MCT-30 combat modules and counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (C-UAS) systems.
Establishing the production of Ukrainian Seawolf surface drones.
Launching the production of Ukrainian unmanned surface vehicles in Poland is a way of cooperating with Ukrainian industry and locating production in the EU. Cooperation between Norway and Poland, including joint procurement for other European countries, also supports the European SAFE instrument.
Earlier, the Ukrainian company Nordex announced that it can produce 25 Seawolf per month. The standard version of the drone has a length of 7.5 meters, a width of 2.2 meters and a hull height of 0.52 meters. It is equipped with a 270-horsepower diesel engine and can carry up to 1,400 liters of fuel. The company reports a range of more than 1,600 kilometers. The total payload is up to 1,650 kilograms, and the warhead payload is up to 450 kilograms. The approximate total weight of the base vehicle is 950 kilograms.
