Requirements
Delivery and Execution. The future CTO of Nova Digital will be fully responsible for Engineering Delivery, ensuring the entire product release cycle for an audience of millions - from strategic planning to the final release. This role involves managing the company's technology portfolio with a focus on prioritization, adherence to the roadmap and ensuring high ROI from technology investments. An important aspect is the development of delivery processes that guarantee speed and predictability of development without compromising quality, as well as the implementation of engineering excellence standards.
Technology Strategy. The CTO will shape the company's development vector in accordance with its business goals. This includes making key architectural decisions for high-load environments based on microservices and distributed systems, as well as implementing data-driven approaches, in particular, developing the platform's ML-readiness and working with Big Data. The CTO will also be responsible for balancing innovation and managing technical debt, minimizing architectural risks and building reliable partnerships with external technology vendors.
Building an Engineering Organization. The candidate will scale teams and build an internal culture based on the principles of ownership, continuous improvement, and psychological safety. The role involves developing technical leadership at all levels of the organization and creating an effective ecosystem of planning and retrospectives that will allow teams to work together and effectively.
Hard and Soft Skills
This role requires 7+ years of experience as a CTO or Head of Engineering in a product company, as well as experience building and scaling engineering organizations with 700+ engineers, through managers.
Hard skills include deep expertise in building high-performance distributed systems, microservices, and cloud infrastructure, as well as a strong background in backend architecture and working with Big Data/ML platforms. Skills in technology transformation and strategic planning taking into account the business context, as well as budget and resource management are important.
Soft skills include: strategic and systems thinking, leadership through influence, high executive maturity, ability to explain complex things simply, etc.
Desired skills
experience in eCommerce, logistics or fintech;
experience in international product scaling;
Practical experience with ML/AI at the platform or product level;
experience working with ERP / CRM / enterprise systems.
