Nova Poshta has launched its second solar power plant. It is located at the terminal in Kyiv.
In January 2025, the company launched its first solar power plant with a capacity of 1 MW on an area of 5,000 m2. The project cost was UAH 14 million.
Almost two months later, the postal operator announced the launch of a second solar power plant. This time, its capacity is 700 kW, and the project cost is UAH 13.5 million.
"In the summer, the stations will operate at full capacity and will be able to cover 100% of the terminals' electricity needs during the day," the company notes.
Subsequently, they plan to install the next phase of solar power plants, which will double the existing capacity: from 700 to 1,400 kW.
Given that the terminals operate 24/7, Nova Poshta has also invested in electricity storage facilities (ESF). ESF will be able to store previously accumulated electricity and deliver it to the company's network or even to an external network as needed.
The company plans to install power plants and UZEs at a total of five largest terminals in Ukraine, with this process already launched at three of them.
Nova Poshta also reported that it has already invested UAH 300 million in energy autonomy, and plans to spend another UAH 150 million this year.
“Thus, the company will reduce dependence on centralized electricity supply and contribute to the development of environmentally friendly energy in the country,” the operator explains.
