"The co-founder of monobank admitted his mistake after publishing the client's personal data. At the same time, the very admission of a mistake does not exempt from responsibility. I reacted to the situation immediately - proceedings were opened and an investigation into the circumstances of a possible violation of the legislation on the protection of personal data and banking secrecy was initiated," Lubinets wrote on Facebook.
The Ombudsman emphasized that personal data cannot become a tool of public pressure or humiliation. "The law is the same for everyone, and its violation cannot be justified by emotions or public outcry."
The results of the inspection and further steps will be communicated further after receiving all the necessary information.
Recall that the day before, the co-owner of monobank Oleg Gorohovsky shared a story - according to him, one of the clients of the financial institution conducted video verification in the banking application against the background of the Russian flag. Because of this, the bank, as he reported, blocked her accounts.
However, military and public activist Sergei Gnezdilov found out that in fact the girl named Karina Kolb did this against the background of the flag of Slovenia, where she is staying with a friend. The girl herself said that she never had pro-Russian sentiments, because her "whole family is fighting."
Gorokhovsky then published an explanation of the situation, assuring customers that their personal data was safe and that this was monobank's priority.
