The State Customs Service of Ukraine has created a new electronic tool that allows buyers and businesses to check whether a mobile phone has undergone official customs clearance when imported into the country.
The State Customs Service of Ukraine has created a new electronic tool that allows buyers and businesses to check whether a mobile phone has undergone official customs clearance when imported into the country.
This was reported by the press service of the State Customs Service. The service is already publicly available on the agency's portal.
To check, simply enter the device's IMEI in the appropriate field. The database contains information about phones cleared from customs since September 4, 2026. It is from this date that importers are required to provide information about the unique identifier of each device when declaring goods under the relevant UKT FEA codes.
Customs officials note that the new tool will be useful for several categories of users:
for buyers - to check the legality of the gadget before purchasing;
sellers and importers - to confirm the official status of the product;
government agencies - to identify risks of illegal import and circulation of equipment.
At the same time, the department emphasizes the limitations of the service: the system only records the fact that data is available in the customs declaration. It does not check the authenticity of the device, its warranty status, whether it is blocked by the operator, or whether it is in the databases of stolen phones.
