Oschadbank wanted to create a similar application at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, but implemented a test project only in 2023. Anton Tyutiun, Deputy Chairman of the Bank's Board, responsible for retail business, said this in an interview with Forbes Ukraine. The release date on Google Play is November 28, 2020.
The idea was to provide small and medium-sized business customers with a ready-made sales channel, especially those who cannot afford their own application. The cost of development is not disclosed.
In June, the bank announced the launch of the Samo application: it was updated on Google Play on June 23. Okwine, Socar, WOG, Winetime, and local businesses in Kyiv, Dnipro, Kropyvnytskyi, and Chernihiv have already joined the application.
Among the functions:
Samo is currently in beta. The app description says: “The app is currently being improved to make it better, so some features or pages may not display correctly. Thank you for your understanding.”
This year, they plan to scale to other cities and connect new partners. Among the priorities is the development of the Shop&Go service, which allows you to scan products and pay at a partner store without a cash register or queues.
