A Uklon passenger told how the driver dropped her off on the highway for asking to switch to a Russian-language song. What was the company's reaction to the incident?
A creepy story that happened on New Year's Eve.
A creepy story that happened on New Year's Eve.
Uklon passenger Olena Kovalchuk told how a driver named Ruslan, who has over 1,300 trips and a rating of 4.9 out of 5, dropped her off on the highway after asking her to turn down a Russian-language song. According to the victim, the driver himself took her things out of the trunk.
“Happy New Year! For asking to switch off the Russian song in the cabin, the taxi driver dropped me off in the middle of the road. Uklon promised to scold the driver. However, he will still get the money for the trip, because he dropped me off in Kyiv. You’d think in the middle of the highway. You’d think he put my things out of the trunk on the road himself. It’s a shame, but here are 2 discount coupons for you and a “wonderful evening”. If you’re wondering which artist’s honor the taxi driver defended so vehemently, it was Potap. Truly a star worth fighting for,” the girl wrote on Facebook, adding screenshots to confirm.
Elena was compensated 20 UAH for the incomplete trip:

We contacted Uklon to ask about the situation. Here's what the company said:
"Uklon always pays great attention to the comfort and safety of users. The driver's behavior, including dropping off a passenger and taking his belongings out of the trunk because of a request to turn down the music, is unacceptable and violates the standards of service provision.
We tried to contact the driver to clarify the circumstances, but he is not getting through. The driver's access to the service is currently blocked until the details of the situation are established. Additional measures will be taken after receiving all the necessary information.
"In addition, we believe that a user should not have to pay the full cost of a trip in these situations. Given the circumstances, the cost calculation has been adjusted to reflect the actual cost of the trip."
