A developer and designer from Dnipro created an AI application with a virtual assistant for learning traffic rules even without access to the Internet. How does "PDR.ai" work and who is Dorozko?
Software developer Oleksandr Pavelko and designer Elizaveta Gorbacheva have created the «PDR.ai» application with artificial intelligence and a virtual assistant that will help you quickly and easily learn traffic rules and prepare for the driver’s license exam even without access to the Internet. Software developer Oleksandr Pavelko and designer Elizaveta Gorbacheva have created the «PDR.ai» application with artificial intelligence and a virtual assistant that will help you quickly and easily learn traffic rules and prepare for the driver’s license exam even without access to the Internet. We tell you what it is interesting for and who it is useful for.
The idea is to close your own needs
The idea of creating the «PDR.ai» application appeared among the Dnipro residents about a year ago. «My girlfriend started studying traffic rules and was looking for various applications for learning. She faced the problem of incomprehensible interfaces and confusing explanations, which was the impetus for creating our product,» Oleksandr told dev.ua.
The idea was brought to life by two IT enthusiasts — Oleksandr Pavelko as the project manager and technical developer, and Elizaveta Gorbacheva as a designer and marketer. During the testing phase, five people worked with him, helping the developers bring the product to the final version before release.

The application was based on real-life questions and theoretical materials from official sources.
«We wanted to create a product that is distinguished by two key features: the use of artificial intelligence, and the simplicity and clarity of the interface for users of any age — from teenagers to the older generation,» says Oleksandr.
Virtual assistant
The application integrates a virtual assistant Dorozhko. «This is an intelligent system based on ChatGPT. It acts as a digital tutor who not only helps to learn traffic rules, but also motivates the user,» says Oleksandr. According to him, Dorozhko is able to explain complex topics in detail, answer questions, and support the learning process in the same way a real teacher would.
The assistant will help you understand the rules, explain difficult points, and support you at every stage. The application features interactive tasks, a convenient format, and a minimum of dry theory.
The application also features local data storage. All necessary training materials and tests are downloaded to the device immediately upon installation of the application. This allows the user to take tests and study even without an Internet connection.
Costs and monetization
The development of «Dorozhka» lasted about a year. «Everything was done by two people, and we invested the most in our personal resources, time and energy. It was a truly large-scale process that required our full commitment,» the developer states.
The app will be completely free for all users at launch, including AI-powered features. Future monetization models are still being discussed by the developers.
The app is currently available only for iOS users. Oleksandr says there are no plans for an Android version yet. «However, everything will depend on user demand and feedback — if there are enough requests, we will definitely consider this possibility,» he adds.

Як нейромережі бачать вільну та незалежну Україну? Тест dev.ua
