As the company reports on its blog, the AI assistant in Photoshop is currently available in public beta for web and mobile.
By using an AI assistant, you can remove unnecessary distractions from a photo, change the background, improve lighting, or adjust the color scheme.
«You can choose whether AI Assistant applies edits automatically or guides you step-by-step so you can learn as you go. In Photoshop, you can also use your voice to request edits you want to see. This makes it easier to edit on the go,» the company said.
Photoshop for the web also introduces a new feature called AI Markup, powered by AI Assistant and available in the context menu.
With AI Markup, you can draw directly on an image and add hints to indicate where you need to make changes. «For example, you can mark an area of an image and then type a hint to add flowers or mountains there. In seconds, Photoshop will create amazing results,» the company assured.
New AI tools have also been added to Firefly Image Editor.

With Firefly, you can create images using your choice of over 25 AI models, including Adobe models, Google’s Nano Banana 2, OpenAI’s Image Generation, Runway’s Gen-4.5, and Black Forest Labs' Flux.2 [pro], and then move on to editing without interrupting the creative process.
Until April 9, paid subscribers to Photoshop for web and mobile can use unlimited AI Assistant queries, and the free version of Photoshop can get 20 free AI Assistant queries.
