Co-founder of Nova Poshta: Terminal in Kyiv destroyed by ballistics may resume operations this week
The largest and most modern Nova Poshta terminal in Kyiv, which suffered significant damage during the Russian missile attack on June 15, may partially resume operations this week.
The largest and most modern Nova Poshta terminal in Kyiv, which suffered significant damage during the Russian missile attack on June 15, may partially resume operations this week.
The company’s co-founder, Volodymyr Popereshnyuk, reported this in a commentary on Channel 24 during a broadcast from the scene.
According to him, two buildings of the terminal were destroyed as a result of the impact of three ballistic missiles. Despite the extensive destruction, there were no deaths or injuries among the workers.
«There were no casualties. We were preparing, training, everyone was in safe places. There are bomb shelters throughout the terminal,» Popereshnyuk noted.
Damage assessment and restoration work are currently underway at the facility. The company notes that backup logistics routes have been prepared in advance, so the network continues to operate virtually without interruption.
«Logistics is all working, the terminal will be temporarily closed. I think we will start working this week, and then it will take several months for full recovery,» said the company’s co-founder.
According to preliminary estimates, about 10,000 parcels were damaged as a result of the attack.
The affected facility is the largest innovative terminal of Nova Poshta in the capital. It is equipped with an automated sorting system from the Dutch company Vanderlande and became the first logistics complex of this level in Ukraine.
The terminal provides rapid sorting and processing of significant volumes of shipments and is one of the key elements of the company’s logistics infrastructure.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Nova Poshta’s logistics facilities have repeatedly been the target of Russian attacks. In January 2024, Russian troops attacked the company’s innovative terminal in Kharkiv. Four people were killed then — two employees of the sorting center and two drivers of the partner company, and four more employees were injured. In May of this year, the company’s branch in Kramatorsk came under attack, as well as a branch in the village of Lymanka in the Odessa region, which was completely destroyed as a result of a drone attack. Also on June 4, Russian troops again attacked the company’s logistics center in Dnipro. There were no casualties then, but some property was lost.
The Russian Federation destroyed the most innovative terminal of Novaya Poshta. What was the «brain» of the country’s largest logistics operator. Report
