People’s Deputy, Deputy Chairman of the Finance Committee Yaroslav Zheleznyak published the Ministry of Economy’s calculations on the impact of development programs on Ukraine’s GDP in 2024. He criticized the insignificant impact of the «populist» and «idiotic» programs of Natskeshbek and «Winter e-Support».
«"Cashback» brought as much as +0.001% of GDP. A very «powerful» result — inversely proportional to the pathos with which this idiocy was launched. Another idiotic program «1000 Zelensky» generally +0.023% of GDP. The least effective program even according to official calculations. Which was worth proving», — Zheleznyak wrote in his Telegram.
What support programs had an impact on GDP in 2024?
According to calculations by the Department of Strategic Planning and Macroeconomic Forecasting of the Ministry of Economy, state programs had the following impact.
Earlier, Ukrainian officials said that the campaign to support the national manufacturer «Made in Ukraine» will increase GDP by 1%. It provides for a refund of funds for the purchase of goods of Ukrainian manufacturers to a special card.
«I don’t know how they calculated GDP growth, but I think it’s just an increase in government consumption. According to this logic, increasing salaries for prosecutors and pensions for judges also brought more GDP growth. I wonder how much + GDP, according to government officials' calculations, would have been simply not taking these 10-15 billion UAH from the army?», — noted Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The head of the Ministry of Digital Affairs told what Ukrainians spend their «voivodeship thousand» on. Only 4% was directed to donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
