Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has said that the operation of products from foreign software vendors such as Microsoft and Zoom is contrary to his country’s interests.
According to Reuters, the Russian president said that Western technological solutions should be «suppressed», and it is important for the Russian Federation to develop domestic software solutions.
Recently, dev.ua also wrote that the Innopraktika foundation of the daughter of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Katerina Tikhonova, will open a technohub for Russian high-tech companies in the Indian capital, New Delhi.
Previously, Innopraktika has already created a technohub in China and is discussing the opening of similar sites in the UAE, Brazil, and South Africa.
According to the Russian Central Bank, the war in Ukraine led to a sharp drop in Russian software exports. While in 2021 the figure reached $7.4 billion, by the end of 2024 it had dropped to $1.9 billion. Thus, exports of IT solutions from the Russian Federation decreased by 3.9 times over the specified period.
