German technology company Quantum Systems has localized the production of all parts for the Vector UAV fuselage in Ukraine. Previously, these drones were only assembled from ready-made parts at local facilities.
The company told the publication «Militarnyi» about this at the European Defense Tech Hackaton.
Quantum Systems has already launched a factory and established a separate R&D center in Ukraine. The company plans to double production in 2025.
«We already have a full-fledged production of 100% of all fuselage parts that are manufactured here in Ukraine,» said Dmytro Gorlin, Director of Technology at Quantum Systems Ukraine. He added that Ukrainian experience helped improve some production parameters, in particular, to lighten the fuselage by 250 grams.
«On the positive side, this is the strength of the materials; in Ukraine we managed to achieve better results in this, and lighter ones», — he added.
It is noted that the company is already testing a new payload: acoustic sensors, AI on a more powerful processor for data processing, a 360-degree camera, etc.
Quantum Systems previously confirmed the deployment of a new Receptor AI sensor upgrade in Ukraine. The new upgrade kit is based on the Nvidia Jetson Orin chip and several sensors for the Vector reconnaissance drone.
The development allows for optical navigation day and night and in poor visibility conditions, as well as automated recognition and identification of objects using artificial intelligence.
Recall that Quantum Systems recently attracted 160 million euros in investment and became one of the few European defense startups with unicorn status. Quantum Systems operates in Ukraine and is a resident of «Diya.City».
