German drone manufacturing company Quantum-Systems is building its recently introduced Twister reconnaissance drones at its facilities in Ukraine.
This was told to the publication «Militarnyi» by the director of the Ukrainian representative office of Quantum-Systems, Oleksandr Berezhny. According to him, the start of production is planned for July.
«In Germany [Twister drones] have already been put into use, in Ukraine they have not yet. Here we are starting its production in July and, accordingly, we will immediately begin testing», — Berezhny noted.
He added that these UAVs have interested representatives of the Ukrainian Land Forces, so the company expects active integration of Twister into the Defense Forces.
Quantum-Systems introduced the Twister drone just four months ago. It is a compact, short-range, vertical take-off and landing reconnaissance UAV that transmits high-definition video.
«Thanks to its built-in artificial intelligence computing system, Twister not only provides the operator with situational awareness via real-time video, but also supports decision-making by detecting, tracking, classifying, and identifying objects on the screen», — the company says.
This UAV can be deployed autonomously in less than two minutes, and operators can control multiple aircraft simultaneously to perform swarm operations.
Features of Twister:
Quantum Systems previously said it was working on integrating sound measurement functionality into its Twister, Vector, and Reliant reconnaissance drones. This would allow the drones to detect enemy artillery and mortar positions at distances of up to 15 km.
Recall that last summer, Quantum Systems opened its plant in Ukraine, which produces Vector reconnaissance drones for the Defense Forces. The company also reported on the deployment in Ukraine of a new upgrade of artificial intelligence sensors of the Receptor AI type.
