«The updated digital Register of Arms Dealers is a fundamental step towards transparent defense procurement», said Shmyhal.
The Register of Arms Manufacturers will be a closed, secure system that will provide state customers with reliable information about suppliers, as well as risk assessment tools. According to the Minister of Defense, the Register «will allow for the formation of a complete picture of the capabilities of the Ukrainian defense industry for making strategic management decisions.»
It should also minimize corruption and security risks, «manual and informal agreements,» and make competition fairer for defense companies.
«This decision is part of the State Anti-Corruption Program and our systemic movement towards a modern, effective digital ecosystem that works for the needs of the army,» said Denys Shmyhal.
