Vladyslav Fomenko, Game\Technical Designer at VG Entertainment, is working on his own project — an FPV drone simulator that destroys enemy equipment by hitting vulnerable spots.
According to the developer, the game offers realistic controller control and simplified controls that allow you to easily control the drone with a keyboard and mouse. Players need to complete a variety of combat missions: destroying equipment, searching for and striking important armored targets from the air that may be protected by electronic warfare.
Each enemy technique in Remote Reaper has vulnerabilities. The player’s task is to find these critical points and deliver precise blows to them for effective destruction.
«Military equipment is not destroyed from the first hit — it is protected by armor. However, each vehicle has weak points: less armored areas, fuel tanks, connection points, or external equipment. Hitting these points causes critical damage, allowing you to destroy the target with minimal cost», — explains Vladislav Fomenko, explaining the game mechanics.
He says that before attacking, the pilot should study the target’s structure on a training map and determine the correct angle of attack. Ill-considered hits on armor will not be effective and will result in the loss of ammunition and drones, but a precise hit on a vulnerable point destroys the target on the first try.
Fomenko plans to add attached structures such as nets, which are often used in real life to protect against FPV drones. This protection will have to be bypassed in the same way as the target’s armor.
«The booking mechanics make each battle more dynamic and realistic, bringing the gameplay closer to real-world tactics of using FPV drones», — the developer believes.
Remote Reaper was released in early April and is expected to be in Early Access for about a year. In the first week of release, Vladislav Fomenko improved the control settings and expanded the list of supported FPV controllers, as well as working on bug fixes and improvements requested by players. He also updated the balance, including changes to drone parameters, vulnerable areas, and the difficulty of the challenges.

In the future, he will continue to work on supporting «specific FPV controllers» and plans to implement a control template system and add a ready-made preset for the Xbox One controller.
Although the project is still in early access, Remote Reaper: FPV Drone has already implemented all the main mechanics and some of the content. Version 1.0 will include more content — new mechanics, objectives and maps. The game currently costs 150 UAH with a 25% discount, and after leaving early access its price will increase.
The developers of the Liftoff FPV drone simulator spent two years trying to reach out to Ukrainian authorities for cooperation. They succeeded after a public outcry on X (Twitter)
