Ukrainian IT professionals have created a tool that turns an ordinary corporate “well done” into a proven professional asset that doesn’t disappear after changing jobs. How does RewardChain work?
The Lionwood.studio team — a product subsidiary of Lviv-based Lionwood.software — has developed the RewardChain platform, which preserves the successes of specialists at work. This Web3 tool records the professional achievements of specialists in the form of protected digital assets that remain the property of the employee forever and do not disappear after their dismissal or the closure of corporate accounts.
The idea for the tool was born even before the full-scale invasion thanks to Yuriy Kaminovsky, who was then responsible for HR at Lionwood.software, and Oleksandr Chopenko, who developed blockchain at the company. Together, they were looking for a way to apply Web3 technologies for the practical benefit of ordinary specialists and drew attention to a serious problem. All professional achievements, feedback and employee evaluation results usually remain inside corporate systems, so after changing jobs, a person loses access to them.
This is how the idea came to create a platform where successes confirmed by the employer would belong to the specialist himself, remain with him forever, and be suitable for verification by future companies.
Due to the outbreak of a full-scale war and Yuri's military service, the development of the project had to be temporarily postponed. The team was able to return to active implementation and bring the original idea to life only later. This became possible when the Lionwood.studio product team was formed around the idea, which continued work on the tool.
A digital diploma from an employer that cannot be forged and its authenticity can be verified in a few clicks.
RewardChain is a platform that transforms employer-verified professional achievements into a secure digital asset that belongs to the employee and stays with them throughout their career.
The platform works both as a corporate motivation tool for the company and as an independent professional profile for the employee.
Awarding a distinction: An authorized person (manager or HR) can award a distinction for a specific achievement — such as project completion, mentoring, or business results — directly through the RewardChain interface or using a command in a corporate messenger.
Employee acceptance of the award: to confirm the award, the system generates a digital record on the Base network using the Ethereum Attestation Service, recording only a cryptographic fingerprint of the achievement without publishing personal data, which guarantees protection against forgery and confidentiality.
Ability to correct an error: Within 30 days, the company can revoke a mistakenly issued award, but after this period, the record becomes unchangeable, ensuring that a former employer cannot delete achievements due to conflict or dismissal, and the professional history remains the property of the employee forever.
Verification of achievement: a future employer can instantly and without additional calls verify the authenticity, date, and author of the award on a special page, while the employee himself has full control over confidentiality and decides which project details to show to outsiders.
Login without cryptocurrency complexity: no cryptocurrency wallets or fees are required to work with RewardChain, as login occurs through familiar services like Google or email, and the digital wallet is created automatically in the background, making blockchain technology completely invisible to the user.
Professional Profile Levels: Through a level system (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) that requires accumulating a certain number of accolades from multiple different employers, RewardChain turns ordinary corporate praise into a proven professional asset that reflects a professional's entire career path.
Currently, RewardChain is financed by Lionwood.software and Lionwood.studio and is in the internal testing phase. The next step will be to pilot the platform in other Ukrainian IT companies. Artificial intelligence (for writing code, testing, and documentation) helps in the development of the project, but all key architectural solutions and security are personally controlled by the technical lead, Oleksandr Chopenko.
RewardChain will be monetized using a B2B SaaS model: the platform will be free for employees, and companies will pay. The preliminary pricing plan includes a basic subscription, payment for the number of active users, corporate packages for large businesses, and additional integration or analytics options. The team will form the final cost of the tariffs based on the results of internal testing and the first external pilots.
The main advantage of RewardChain is that the award does not disappear after changing jobs.
Unlike well-known international platforms (such as Bonusly, Workhuman, Achievers, or HeyTaco), where an employee's reward history remains within the corporate database and is lost after his or her dismissal, RewardChain is a unique product for the Ukrainian market.
The main advantage of the platform is that employer-verified badges are permanently owned by the specialist, accompany them throughout their career, and can be publicly verified without the use of crypto wallets. This gives employees an independent professional profile, and companies a powerful tool for motivating the team, strengthening the employer brand, and instantly verifying candidates without unnecessary inquiries and calls to previous places of work.
The next stage is entering the Ukrainian IT market and launching pilots in several Ukrainian companies.
After completing internal testing of the platform at Lionwood.software and Lionwood.studio, which will allow the system to be adjusted before entering the foreign market, the team plans to launch pilot projects in other Ukrainian IT companies. In the future, the developers will focus on integrating RewardChain with popular work tools such as Slack, Telegram, Jira and GitHub, launching a mobile application for employees, as well as expanding corporate analytics and quick candidate screening functions for recruiters. The final stage of development will be scaling the business and entering the platform into the international markets of Europe, the Middle East and America.
“We also applied for a Web3 Resilience Lab grant in the veteran category. The team leader is veteran Yuriy Kaminovsky, who served in the Defense Forces of Ukraine in 2023-2026. The team applied for funding in the amount of $25,000. In case of victory, the funds are planned to be used for the transition to the pilot stage: blockchain infrastructure, security, legal and regulatory support, improving the user experience and launching pilots,” Lionwood.studio said.
The long-term goal of the project team is to ensure that a specialist's professional reputation no longer disappears with the closure of a corporate account or a change of employer.
