The Chinese have introduced the world's first humanoid robot that replaces its own batteries

Chinese company UBTech Robotics has taught its Walker S2 robot to replace its battery on its own. It walks up to a charging station, removes the battery from its chest, places it in the charging dock, and then installs a new one.

This new feature allows the robot to work continuously 24 hours a day without human assistance, writes The South China Morning Post.

The Walker S2 is designed for ultra-high performance, and its dual-battery, replaceable battery system allows it to operate autonomously with minimal human supervision.

The robot is able to monitor the charge level and switch between batteries as needed. If one battery runs low, the system can switch to the other and continue working without interruption, the company claims.

The robot can reportedly complete the battery replacement process in just three minutes. The batteries are designed to connect like USB drives, making them easy to insert and remove.

Walker robots have already been tested on production lines at Chinese electric car manufacturers BYD, Nio, and Zeekr.
