«Before that, Starlink was only seen on the Molniya UAV. When the Shahed will fly on Starlink, it’s just a matter of time and maybe even days, not months,» said «Flash.»
In December last year, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that Russia had adapted a Molniya aircraft-type FPV drone for aerial reconnaissance — they installed Starlink and a camera with three-axis stabilization. The GUR added that the drone also had a Chinese Mini PC F8 with licensed Windows 11.
Sergey Beskrestnov reported on the new Russian BM-35 kamikaze drones in the fall of 2025. The UAV has an aerodynamic design with a delta wing and is equipped with a two-stroke DLE gasoline engine with a thrust propeller located in the nose of the fuselage. Experts have counted at least 41 foreign components in this drone.
«Flash» considers the appearance of Starlink technologies on the BM-35 a major threat to Ukraine.
«UAVs with this type of control are not susceptible to electronic warfare and accurately hit the target under the control of an operator from the Russian Federation,» the expert warned.
