Since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the law has prohibited the removal of Russian owners or beneficiaries from companies. But despite this, companies continue to shed their Russian footprint — 91 companies have done so since January 2025. IT is among the industries with the largest number of such businesses.
Of the 91 companies that have lost their Russian owners, 88 are actively operating, and 3 are in a state of suspension, Opendatabotreports .
The largest number of companies operates in the wholesale trade sector — 15, real estate operations (13 businesses), retail trade (8), fisheries (6), as well as in the IT and consulting sector (5 businesses).
A third of the companies that have lost their Russian footprint operate in Kyiv — 30 businesses. Next are: Odesa region — 9 companies, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Vinnytsia regions — 7 each, respectively.
Most of the companies that removed owners from the Russian Federation have a turnover of up to 10 million hryvnias - 38. Another 10 companies earned from 10 to 100 million, 4 exceeded the 100 million mark, and 39 did not submit financial statements.
Among the companies that have lost the Russian footprint are those that actively participate in government tenders: TATNEFT-AZS-UKRAINE has won 43 tenders worth over UAH 6.8 million since the start of the full-scale invasion. Also among the leaders are MIREKTs with 4 tenders for UAH 122,000 and VK SERVICE PLUS with 1 tender for UAH 57,000.
"It is worth noting that the legislation regulating changes in companies with Russian owners remains unchanged. Only certain categories of Russian citizens can make such changes - those who legally reside in Ukraine or own a share of up to 10% in the authorized capital," Opendatabot noted.
Opendatabot presented the top 10 IT companies by revenue, which together earned UAH 56.48 billion in the year. The top three belong to American companies, of which GlobalLogic took first place.
