RAW Ring is not yet a real product, but just an idea, a prototype of which is planned to be released in the fall. According to the startup's CEO Marina Anderson, the device will work as follows:

The startup's website quotes Marina Anderson as saying: "Like a best friend on your finger — monitoring your heartbeat, body heat, and interactions around your partner. When something's wrong, you'll know. It's that simple."
In an interview with The Verge, Anderson said , "The idea behind the ring was to give couples more ways to explore each other's feelings on a deeper level and build more trust. Nearly 50 percent of marriages now end in divorce. We wanted the engagement ring to become a symbol of trust again."
The startup's CEO claims that it's not a tracking device, but a symbol of a promise of honesty and commitment. The engagement ring is designed for people who want a serious, trusting relationship.
The team plans to create controls so that each individual user can decide which metrics or emotional markers are shared with their partner. So, if you don't want your partner to get notifications that you're stressed, they won't get them.
RAW is also currently talking to a focus group of couples about what they would be comfortable sharing with their partners. These include people with different attachment styles, as well as those who have already been divorced, are going through a divorce, or say they have been affected by toxic relationships. Anderson says RAW has not yet consulted with domestic violence advocacy groups, but the issue is being discussed.
Anderson says there's still a lot of A/B testing to do. The prototype is scheduled for September, and she hopes to have a full launch sometime in early 2026.
