Apple's smart glasses are getting closer to reality: what is known about them
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has released a new Power On newsletter, reporting that Apple is continuing to develop its own smart glasses. The product is codenamed N50 and will feature the company’s AI developments.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has released a new Power On newsletter, reporting that Apple is continuing to develop its own smart glasses. The product is codenamed N50 and will feature the company’s AI developments.
Apple wants to create its own pair of smart glasses, similar to Meta's Ray-Ban , which have become quite popular and contain all sorts of technology (but not displays): cameras, microphones, an artificial intelligence assistant, and speakers for listening to audio.
According to Gurman, Apple wants to take a very similar approach: "This device is not ready yet, but the idea is to turn the glasses into an Apple Intelligence device. The product will analyze the environment and transmit information to the user, although it is still far from true augmented reality."
In the past, Gurman mentioned that Apple may not want to allow the glasses to take photos for privacy reasons, although this issue has not yet been resolved, writes 9to5Mac.
Gurman also mentioned once again that Apple continues to work on AirPods with cameras, which will also contribute to the implementation of visual intelligence technology in new equipment.
According to previous reports, both of these products are likely to launch around 2027.
