According to the Wired portal, which has access to internal OpenAI orders, Sam Altman urged scientists to stay at OpenAI, because it is the only right choice for those who want to create artificial general intelligence. The head of OpenAI hinted that the company is considering raising salaries to curb pressure from Meta.
“I believe we have the most exceptional team and the best corporate culture in the world. Of course, we have work to do to improve these aspects, but we have been through a crazy hypergrowth. We have something that, in my opinion, no one else has, and I am confident that we can solve these challenges,” Altman said in a message to the OpenAI team.
According to multiple reports, Mark Zuckerberg is offering a $100 million bonus to key OpenAI researchers to join Meta. This information was confirmed by Sam Altman when he was a guest on his brother's podcast. However, a former OpenAI researcher who left the company for Meta said that he did not receive a $100 million bonus for signing with Zuckerberg's company.
However, the fact is clear — OpenAI has already lost at least four employees as a result of Meta’s actions. And OpenAI co-founder John Schulman left OpenAI to work at a rival company, Anthropic.
