According to the State Statistics Service, in July 2026, the average salary in the IT sector increased to UAH 78,716 compared to UAH 77,931 in June, as reported by Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Ranking of the highest average salaries by industry in July 2026:
IT — 78,716 UAH;
air transport — 69,679 UAH;
financial and insurance activities — 64,922 UAH.
The lowest average wage levels in mid-summer were recorded in the fields of culture and art (16,734 UAH), library and museum work (16,765 UAH), and education (20,237 UAH).
In a regional breakdown, the highest level of average income continues to be in the capital, where the indicator reached 49,463 UAH, while the lowest was registered in the Chernivtsi region — 23,354 UAH.
"The issue is not that people in IT, the financial sector or other industries earn more. The issue is that in education, culture and other socially important areas, wages remain unacceptably low. The situation in education is especially indicative: in July, the average salary here was UAH 20,237 compared to UAH 25,394 in June. For the month, it is minus UAH 5,157, or 20.3%," the MP added.
