Rakuten Viber analyzed the most common scenarios that annoy Ukrainians when using the messenger, and told how they can be avoided.
Viber reported that Ukrainians are most annoyed by calls and messages from unknown contacts, which can be not only unpleasant, but also fraudulent.
To minimize this trigger, the company advises turning on the «message requests» feature. Then all messages from users who are not in your contacts will automatically go to a separate «Message requests» folder.
In second place in terms of irritation are advertising mailings. You can opt out of them in «Business Chats», where messages from companies are stored.
Ukrainians also get annoyed when unknown people constantly add them to groups or communities. You can combat this by limiting the circle of people who can add a user to various chats.
In addition, users from Ukraine are fed up with unacceptable content in groups and constant spam. Viber says that you can file a complaint about unwanted content. Complain about advertising, channels, communities, individual posts in channels and communities, chatbots and individual posts in them, as well as user sticker packs.
To protect yourself from spammers, you can enable automatic spam checking. Then, messages containing emails, links, and phone numbers are checked for spam and malicious content and whether they were sent by suspected spammers.
