The team behind video game tracking service WhatTheGame has created an AI tool that helps gamers choose their next game. Here’s how it works.
«Artificial intelligence is gradually becoming an indispensable tool in gaming. It already helps build strategies, suggests optimal actions in battle, acts as a coach, and even analyzes errors in the game. Services like Xbox Copilot for Gaming, NVIDIA Project G-Assist, or trophi.ai are doing everything they can to improve your game level and provide instant advice during matches,» WTG explained why they decided to create an AI advisor for players.
Their solution takes into account the user’s gaming history: what projects they played, what they liked, what’s in the library. Based on this data, the AI generates personalized recommendations that are as close as possible to the player’s tastes and mood.
The user can also ask the AI to recommend more specific games with queries like «ninja vs. zombie games» or «something like Vampire Survivors.» The WTG AI advisor will process the query and suggest options.
«The main advantage of the Game Advisor AI is that it learns along with you. The more actively you use WTG, add games to your library, rate and mark your preferences, the more accurate the recommendations become,» the developer explains.
According to them, the service will help players save time and find long-forgotten projects from the backlog.
Recall that in the spring of 2025, Nvidia released an experimental version of Project G-Assist for desktop PCs with GeForce RTX graphics cards. It is available through the Nvidia application and runs locally on the user’s computer.
Previously, the WhatTheGame team announced the release of the WTG mobile application for Android smartphones.
