A Ukrainian created a local opensource alternative to Postman with a built-in MCP server. How Voleeo works

He talked about the project in the Ukrainian community on Reddit.
The application works as a single client for multiple protocols — HTTP/HTTPS, gRPC, WebSocket, and GraphQL — in a single window. Because Voleeo runs natively on your computer, not in a browser, it has no CORS restrictions, payload size limits, or 30-second timeouts; the application can stream and loop through responses larger than 20 MB, filter them via JSONPath, and search on the server side. You can import collections and workspaces from OpenAPI, Swagger, Postman, Insomnia, Bruno, or Yaak.

A special feature is the built-in MCP server: if you connect any MCP client to Voleeo, the AI agent gets access to the same workspace that the user sees on the screen and can independently read, create and edit requests, make calls, and manage environments without leaving the chat.
Other features include authentication via OAuth 2.0, Bearer, Basic, AWS SigV4, Digest, or NTLM; workspace-level encryption of sensitive values via AES-256-GCM; storing keys in the system keychain separate from the synchronized workspace; grouping requests into folders and workspaces with separate variables for dev/staging/prod; versioning of collections in Git with page-by-page history and rollback; and support for plugins for themes, template functions, and request actions.
The application, according to the author, is built on Tauri — frontend in TypeScript, backend in Rust. The project is distributed under the MIT license, already has 70 stars on GitHub and 6 forks.
The author notes that the product is in the Early Access (EA) stage — there may be some glitches and bugs, so you shouldn’t rely on it for production tasks yet. A new release is released every 1–2 weeks.
