Swedish AI startup Lovable, which specializes in vibe coding, is in talks to raise at least $100 million in funding at a valuation of $1.5 billion or higher from U.S. investors, which could make it one of the largest new entrants in the space in the European market.
According to Bloomberg, the startup Lovable already has a steady annual revenue of about $61 million and 130,000 paying customers.
At the same time, negotiations are still ongoing, and the conditions, according to the publication’s sources, may change.
Lovable co-founder and CEO Anton Osika said his startup is experiencing «unprecedented interest» from investors, but declined to comment on the specific terms of the funding. «We’re in a great position where we don’t need money. It’s a very favorable situation for us,» he said in a statement.
The CEO also called Lovable the fastest growing company in Europe.
At the same time, the startup, which employs 28 people, has focused on non-professionals, and according to Osika, about two-thirds of Lovable users have «little or no» programming experience.
As we wrote, at the beginning of the year, vibe coding was becoming increasingly popular in IT — programmers simply ask AI to perform certain tasks and do not delve into the code itself that the chatbot offers.
Even Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that he is creating web pages using AI assistants for programming.
