Ukrainian IT companies focused on custom software development faced a crisis after a full-scale invasion. The solution was to supplement their activities with a product component. Krasovsky chose a similar strategy.
Valery Krasovsky told this in an interview for Forbes Ukraine.
“The idea is to build more connections not only with the group companies, but also with the product startups in which we have invested,” says the CEO of Sigma Software Group.
In June, Sigma Software Group announced a new program that allows serial entrepreneurs to join the group and start a new business in partnership with the team.
This strategy was tested in March 2025 by launching the Defender Media media project.
"Negotiations are ongoing to launch four more businesses," adds Krasovsky. "We will launch at least two very soon."
The process works as follows: an entrepreneur who wants to develop his business with a strong partner turns to Sigma Software Group. According to Krasovsky, they jointly develop a business plan, name and provide financing. The initiator of the business creation, according to the plan, becomes the CEO of the new company and receives a share in it.
A similar model is used by the IT holding Genesis, which includes over 25 companies, and Fractal (formerly Netpeak Group), which has over 30 companies.
Krasovsky’s new strategy also involves establishing closer cooperation between Sigma Software Group and startups funded by SID Venture Partners . Krasovsky is one of the co-founders and general partners of this fund, which has a portfolio of 36 startups. As he explains, the goal is to simultaneously offer clients ready-made products and IT consulting.
