Nvidia President and CEO Jensen Huang personally oversees employee compensation, Business Insider writes .
“I still review every employee’s compensation at the end of every cycle,” Huang said on the July episode of the “All-In” podcast.
He also added that he "has created more billionaires on his management team than any other CEO in the world."
However, those who joined the company earlier are much more likely to receive excess profits than new employees - this pay gap is sometimes discussed quite openly by employees.
Nvidia doesn’t disclose salary data for its employees, but publicly available work visa applications provide one of the few ways to gauge how much the company pays for key roles. The figures are taken from documents that all companies submit to the U.S. Department of Labor to sponsor H-1B visas. Huang stressed that Nvidia will continue to sponsor these visas and cover all associated costs, despite the policy change .
The amounts listed reflect the base rate only—excluding promotions and bonuses, which typically make up the bulk of the total compensation package.
Nvidia approved approximately 1,900 H-1B petitions in fiscal year 2025. The company's top 25 most sought-after positions include software developers, researchers, and product managers.
The base salary for software engineers ranges from $92,000 to $425,500. Researchers can expect to make between $104,000 and $431,250, and product managers earn between $131,029 and $379,500.
