Ukrainian company Skyeton, which produces Raybird reconnaissance drones, has integrated a laser irradiation system for guiding corrected munitions into the ACS-3 Raybird UAV.
Alexey (Bulldozer), head of the operations department of Skyeton, told Militarnyi that the laser irradiation system for the ACS-3 is located in a suspended module that can be quickly replaced within 30 seconds.
According to him, the system integration took about two years, involved «huge investments and thousands of hours of R&D work» by the R&D department, which has more than 100 employees. The integration was completed with a successful test in November 2024.
The technical parameters of the guidance system are not disclosed, but it is noted that it can operate effectively in conditions of strong countermeasures from electronic warfare systems.
A video also appeared showing the combat use of the laser irradiation system, in which the ACS-3 began to irradiate the selected building, flying close to the object at a considerable distance until the moment when the fired projectile successfully hit the building.
Recall that earlier, the founder and CEO of Skyeton, Oleksandr Stepura, spoke about the launch of production in Slovakia. Last year, it was reported that $3.5 million had been invested in it.
